Computer Access and Support

NorQuest students have access to over four hundred computers throughout the College in labs and in the Learner Centre. Fifty computer workstations in the Learner Centre are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. You will also find computers in Networks, the Internet café in the basement of the College. Staff at the Educational Technology Help Desks in the Learner Centre can assist you with everything from the basics in computer use to more difficult tasks such as working with Excel spreadsheet applications. You can take advantage of these opportunities:

Use the computer-based tutorial support (PLATO/SuccessMaker) to learn and practice basic skills. You can book half-hour blocks on a computer to work on tutorial modules in math, reading comprehension, spelling, grammar, career or parenting skills, and more! We also offer TOEFL software that allows you to prepare for required tests.

Get the supervision and tutoring you need in order to use the on-line testing for your career programs, contact Educational Technologies Services at 644-6085. We'll also provide computer access if you opt to write your Diploma exams on a computer. Speak to your instructor about arrangements.

CAP sites in many rural towns such as Wetaskiwin, Westlock, Drayton Valley, Hinton and Stony Plain allow for virtual access to NorQuest distance learning courses.
