Being at school not only means juggling school work, but also juggling the responsibilities from all other areas of everyday life. Learning to be a student and finding balance can be challenging. You don’t have to do it alone.
NorQuest College offers professional and confidential counselling at no cost to registered students. Our educational counsellors, also known as success partners, are psychologists and possess a wide range of expertise and knowledge.
Counsellors provide students with guidance and assistance to cope more effectively with problems that interfere with academic achievement, personal growth, and career development:
- Personal: Stress, self-esteem, interpersonal communications, family issues, addictions, anger, finances and budgeting, and motivation
- Crisis: Bereavement, illness, assault, harassment, suicide, and depression
- Education: Course planning and study skills, including note taking, memory strategies, exam preparation, coping skills for test anxiety, and test taking strategies
- Vocational: Career choice and interest and personality testing
- Referral: Referral to other NorQuest services or to community agencies
