What do you know? Right now, ask yourself 'What do I know
in the course I am presently taking?'
Write down all you know about the content of the course on
one sheet.
After learning the Summary Sheet
strategy, you will be able to create a one page Summary Sheet
to show all you know in the course and also be able to study
from it. |
Summary Sheets are one page
summaries that show the relationships between important points
of a chapter, unit or course and allow you to review quickly
to prepare for tests, quizzes and exams.
Take a blank sheet of paper,
in the middle place the name of the course you are in and start
listing all you know about the course. When you run out of new
ideas, take a minute and look over ideas already on the page
and fill in any more ideas that come to you.
When you can not think of any more ideas, look over the sheet
and see the amount of information you have remembered. |
Do the above activity for each
of your courses and when you are not able to list more ideas,
look at your course outline for ideas, go over your notes, check
your cards and ask others for ideas.
Check how much you have put onto one sheet. |
Summarize this strategy onto
one sheet and present it to someone. |
Continue the above activities
for each course and add to each sheet each day as you learn
new information in your classes and reading. |
